As many of you may or may not know I straighten my hair. Many reasons I do this.
One is that if I leave my hair curly, it is like an afro, and 2 because it's curly. They're kind of the same thing, but oh well. I have been straightening my hair for 3 years, and in that time I have used 2 straighteners, both the exact same brand and make (remington something, my first one gave out after a year) and to me it worked fine, but on Sunday my sister bought a GHD straightener. For those not hip to the fashion brands and the like, GHD is the high class straighteners that cost about $300 (mine was $30 or $40). The only time I have used a GHD is when my hairdresser would straighten my hair after I got a colour (this blog makes me sound like a woman) and because she never did it right, I could never get a good feel for a GHD. Now Alex (sister) has one, I gave it a test run. I'm not sure what temperature it gets too, (my old one got to 200 degress celcius in about 3 minutes) but to heat up, it took under a minute. So 1 point goes to it. Anyway, I'll just get to the point. It done a great job. The sides of my hair got curly, but I was out in the sun all day, so it may've been from sweat, but the rest has stayed pin straight all day.
Point is, if you have the chance in the current economic climate, I strongly reccomend one. Or you could just not be vain. Whatever you like. Kbye.
