A review on webcomics? Being a 'web artist' and spending all my time on the internet, I do read alot of webcomics. Some I read for a few strips, get boredm then go, but the rest hook me in.
I'll review others a bit later in this post, but first I have to put in a word for Girls with Slingshots http://www.daniellecorsetto.com/gws.html Honest to God, hands down, the best webcomic I have read in so long. I read a few story line based webcomics, but none that are updated 5 days a week. This amazes me. I struggle to put out my lame-ass comic (If you switch the hyphen, it become Lame ass-comc, thanks so much for making me always do this XKCD) 2 days a week. The story is fresh, a consistent. I read through the entire archive, up to the current one, last night. The first few, I was like "Eh, it's alright" so I kept reading. Next thing I know, I was sucked in. It's the first time too, that I have read through an entire comic archive in one sitting. It's so, fairly true to life, true story lines, ah just SO GOOD. So definetly go check it out.
One more word on it, don't check it out if you're younger, as it has alot of sex, dildos, and the like in it. Maybe that's why I love it. (if you're younger I wouldn't be reading my blogs either, but thats just me)
Now, other webcomics I read (in no order, just how they are placed in my bookmark bar):
http://mycardboardlife.com/ It's not drawing, the artist uses cardboard and paper for the 2 main characters. It's a cute kind of kids comic, with some adult undertones, I like it.
http://www.picturesforsadchildren.com/ READ IT NOW. John Campbell is my idol. His comics are depressingly funny. Also check out his hourly comics page. He does comics about his life once a month, every year. It's just about him, but it still makes me laugh. He's excellent
http://www.jeffschuetze.com/ I was annoyed when there was a massive lack of updates. The author was filiming a movie, but he is now back. It's about a gamer/asian/actor kid. Good read.
http://www.imycomic.com/ I got my first fan-art posted on this site. Excellent story line, and an extremely friendly artist. While most webcomic artists rarely even reply to people on Twitter,(only her, and Zach Weiner of SMBC comics have) she even Ping!'d me and had a chat, which I thought was awesome. Go read the comic right now.
http://pajamaforest.com/ Brilliant art style. Brilliant story lines. Brilliant everything. It doesn't follow a defienit storyline, it has just short little arcs, but honestly, I've had a lot of lulz reading it (why did I just say lulz?)
http://eqcomics.com/ Follow Edmund Finney while searches for the meaning of life. He obviously has never read The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. It's a very out there comic, a bit droll (is that right?) at times, but when it has a good joke, it has the best good joke out there
http://www.amazingsuperpowers.com/ If you aren't already reading this comic, you leave my site now. Seriously.
http://www.boatcrime.com/ By the guys who write ASP. Not updated that often. I don't even think it has a definitive update schedule, but still, a definite read for webcomic enthusiasts.
http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com/ This is obligatory. CAD is...wait no, WAS a good webcomic. Back in the day it had this story line about gamers named Ethan and Lucas. For the past 2 months it has been mindless pop culture fillers. I've been reading for 3 years or so, and the author used to do this from time to time, but 2 months is really shit. I suggest reading from number 1, up to when Zeke (the x-bot) leaves home, then stop. That's when the goodness ends.
http://www.xkcd.com/ What would a webcomic list be without XKCD? Bad. XKCD is updated M/W/F with stickmen drawings. You're thinking "STICKMEN? WHAT, how is that good" and the answer is, because Randal Munroe is a genius.
http://www.smbc-comics.com/ Zach Weiner is some kind of God. Some jokes may fail, and some are only for hardcore nerds, but most are the funniest shit you will ever read. Also check out www.smbc-theater.com for thevideo counterpart of the comic.
http://www.explosm.net/ Everyone has heard of cyanide and happiness. Not much I can say about it.
http://www.basketcasecomix.com/ I usually only read this comic one every 2 weeks or so. It updates daily, so it gives me alot of good comics to read. Definetly worth a read through when you're bored. Some jokes are a bit complicated. overall good.
http://spudcomics.com/ This comic reminds me of those one panelled comics that are in newspapers, except, y'know, funny.
Now that I have enriched your lives with humour, I go now.
